Endless skiing made in Austria
... 860 km of pistes, 270 lifts and 25 resorts in five regions, all available on one lift pass and just a snowball´s throw from Salzburg. The area is named in honour of the city of Salzburg´s most famous son, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
This is skiing that brings music to the heart and puts a waltz in the step. Not only is it skiing on a grand scale, but there is no other snowsports region anywhere that is so easy to get to.
Salzburg is served by numerous flights from the UK, including budget airlines, and from the airport you can be at your hotel within less than an hour.
Each area - Salzburger Sportwelt, Schladming-Dachstein, Gastein, Grossarltal and Hochkönig - is massive in its own right.
It is almost impossible to ski them all on the same holiday - but you can try! It´s certainly possible to try several areas, as ski buses connect them with each other and with Salzburg. And if you hire a car you can easily drive between them.
This is skiing and boarding for all levels, and for all the family, from large lift-side nursery areas to tricky, testing black runs. In between are hundreds of kilometres of the best cruising in the Alps. Long runs served by some of the most modern lifts anywhere - state-of-the-art gondolas and six-seater covered chairs that counterpoint the mountains, where you will always be able to find a spot away from the crowds - but with beautiful, traditional achitecture.
You can stay in all kinds of accommodation, from a small cosy B&B to a smart spa hotel - all at a cost noticeably lower than in some better-known areas.
