Innovations for the season 2012/2013
This year, Ski amadé is investing around 42 million Euro in projects such as modernization of the Achter-Jet lift in Flachau, construction of the spectacular “G-Link” in Wagrain which, beginning in 2013/14, will connect two ski mountains, the Grafenberg and Griessenkareck, by means of a futuristic-looking gondola across the valley, the building of a suspension bridge on the Dachstein south face and, above all, the continued expansion of snowmaking systems and slope-maintenance equipment. 88 percent of all slopes, which equates to 731 kilometres, now boast snowmaking coverage, which in turn makes it possible to enjoy a ski season lasting from the end of November 2012 until Easter 2013.
Ski amadé 3.0 - WLAN on the slopes and a brandnew Ski amadé mobile application
So that friends and relatives are also able to share the excitement of you mastering the slopes for the very first time, as well as the magical scenery all around you, since 2011 a free WLAN has been available throughout Ski amadé, up on the mountains as well as at the lift stations, provided by means of 300 access points. A brief Tweet or two from the gondola or a few photos at the ski chalet shared on Facebook, and in no time at all, everyone back home will be completely up-to-date with everything that’s happening. In alpine zones, the Ski amadé wireless network is the biggest of its kind to-date. The “Ski amadé Guide“ app, which was launched in 2011, has also been expanded and improved. With this app, which is available for all smartphones (Android and iPhone), you can check the very latest live info from the ski areas, search for the perfect mountain chalet, or navigate your way to specific places – with everything tailored to your personal skiing style and physical conditioning.
So there are some innovations in Ski amadé, that will prepare us for the whole season.
