The toboggan is one of the oldest pieces of winter sports equipment in the Alps – quite simply, it’s a classic. To this day, it remains a source of infinite enjoyment for young and old alike, with countless natural and man-made runs throughout Salzburg’s many valleys.

Start: Hahnbaumalm Restaurant (altitude approx. 1.100m)
Finish: city center of Sankt Johann (altitude approx. 650m)

Easy access to the start via the Hahnbaum double chair lift. The chair is open until 4pm, later ascents possible by taxi (approx. €35.00 one way for up to 8 pax, tariff will vary according to the meter).

The ski lift right outside the front door you are here already in the middle, in one of the finest family ski resorts in Austria, the ski area Hochkönig, Maria Alm.

Put down your skis, order a treat and prepare yourself for cosiness. The Du & i Alm offers not only the "feel-good factor" through friendly service, but also top quality food and wine. The umbrella bar and the bar / lounge area with panoramic windows are particularly inviting. But the hours also fly by on the so-called high seat in a deckchair with a view of the piste. Pure pleasure. The Du & I Alm is the only hut in the Schladming 4-mountain ski area to offer you an online reservation system.

The regional dishes on the menu at the Du & I Alm are not to be missed. 

• Pink sirloin cut on toast, salad garnish, barbecue sauce
• Fillet steak with jacket potato and bacon beans
• Beef tartare with onion rings, caper berries, toast, butter
• Pork Gordon Bleu with parsley potatoes / fries
• Pork fillet pan-fried with dumplings and bacon beans
• Cheese dumplings with Styrian cheese and coleslaw
• Apple strudel with vanilla sauce

At 1,980 m above sea level, at the foot of the Grießenkareck, is the highest vantage point of Snow Space Salzburg. The view of the Hohe and Niedere Tauern mountains that opens up here is particularly impressive. Make the most of this moment before you happily continue down the slopes.

Curling is more than a tradition in the Alpine region, it's almost a custom.

Target shooting with the ice stocks is a fun diversion in winter, especially for groups. The Dorfgastein ice shooting club offers guests the opportunity to gain an insight into this winter sport.

Asphalt curling is also possible in summer.

Snowshoe hike in the direction of Hirschgrubenalm in Hüttschlag.

From the Oberneureit farm in Hüttschlag, snowshoe uphill along the goods road or along a forest path towards the Hirschgrubenalm (not open in winter). The tour ends shortly before the Hirschgrubenalm due to a game reserve. The Hirschgrubenalm is located in a wide basin in a marvellous mountain landscape - back along the same route.

After the tour you can fortify yourself in the Aschaustüberl.

In summer, the fun & pro Bike Academy is an institution for bikers and has been since 1992. In addition to guided MTB and e-bike tours, there is riding technique training for all bikers. Teaching the right mountain and e-bike riding technique is a particular concern of ours. Why? With an electric drive you can easily climb the mountains and don't need a lot of experience or stamina. But how do you get back down safely? The professionals from Fun & Pro will show you the necessary tips and tricks.

A well-equipped sports shop with bike rental - MTBs, fullys, e-bikes, children's bikes and trailers - professional bike service and a large selection of bike accessories and sales articles make biker life perfect.

And that's not all - fun & pro offers incentives, fun sports Olympics and action days in the unique natural setting of Flachau.

Your little ones are well looked after and lovingly cared for in the spaciously designed kindergarten. A trained nursery-school teacher takes care of the ski midgets. (from 2 1/2 years or from no-nappy age)
