Hüttschlag is a former mining community and is situated approx. 8 km up the valley from Grossarl at an altitude of 1020 m. Hüttschlag has been part of the Hohe Tauern National Park since 1991. That is the largest national park in the Alps. The range of hiking facilities on offer in Hüttschlag is unique. Hüttschlag has been a Mountaineering Village since 2008.
