Together with Hauser Kaibling and Reiteralm, the four mountains form a ski swing with 123 km of slopes and 44 modern cable cars and lifts. 56 huts with culinary delicacies and a range of offers for the whole family, sportsmen and sportswomen and connoisseurs are waiting for you. Here you can experience skiing pleasure and pure winter fun!

Skiing fun on the Planai and Hochwurzen is guaranteed

Whether you're a beginner, a fast skier or a skier who just skis for fun – on the Planai and Hochwurzen there are suitable slopes for everyone. Thanks to highly efficient snow-making equipment, the slopes can be prepared each day anew for the upcoming skiing day. Around 700 snow-making machines provide the largest snow-making system in Austria. The most legendary slope of the Planai is the 4.6 km long FIS downhill run from the Planai summit to the valley, where the famous Planai slope has its crowning finish. But also, more leisurely winter sports enthusiasts feel at home on the wide slopes of the Planai and Hochwurzen.

New from winter 2020/21

The new LÄRCHKOGELBAHN lift – the heart of the Schladming 4-mountain ski lift – starts its first winter season

With the new, high-performance Lärchkogel lift on the Planai this winter, a real innovation in ski lifts will ensure an even more comfortable start to your skiing day. Eight people can comfortably sit on the premium seats, which are heated and there is also a weather protection cover. The new chairlift was built with a transport capacity of 3,500 ski guests per hour, making it the most powerful and modern chairlift in Styria. In addition to the highest level of comfort and significantly higher transport performance, the new lift stations are a real eye-catcher. The bottom station is a simple glass cube in the classic Planai design, which allows guests to take a look at the technology.

The lift station design was created by the Italian designer Pininfarina, who is responsible for the visual implementation for renowned brands such as Ferrari and Maserati. On the panorama deck at the top station, skiers can enjoy a fantastic view of the mighty Dachstein. From here, the new Planai Digital APP makes it easy to discover the region's hotspots right away and also to learn a lot of interesting facts about the new Lärchkogel lift. At the warm-up area right next to it, winter sports enthusiasts can prepare themselves perfectly for the first downhill run.

Nocturnal activity on the Hochwurzen

For those who can’t spend enough time on the slopes during the day, night skiing offers a very special ambience. On the wide and freshly groomed 3 km long slope in the light of the floodlights, you get a very special feeling when making your turns in the snow. The tobogganing fun continues in the evening and is an experience for the whole family. The 7-kilometre-long toboggan run takes you back from the top station to the bottom station of the Gipfelbahn Hochwurzen with many bends.

Hopsi Winter Children's Land

Great fun for little guests with Hopsi's journey around the world

Fun and joy are the top priority in the Hopsi’s Winter Children’s Land on the Planai. After going up with the Planai cable car, the little winter sports enthusiasts can take the Hopsi-express (inclined lift) directly to the heart of the Hopsi Winter Children’s Land. From here, you accompany the Planai mascot on his journey around the world - from a ski through the “Croco slalom” to the Chinese wave course. There is also plenty to discover for non-skiers: playful elements at the "Kasalm" by the Hopsi-express bottom station or the Dachstein gondola offer winter fun even without skis.

The Funslope and the Funcross track provide sporty family fun away from the usual slopes. With exciting snow loops, dynamic steep turns and snow tunnels they make every skiing day an unforgettable experience. For those who want to really enjoy the winter landscape, the three kilometre long winter hiking trail comes highly recommended.
