In winter, the mountains attract skiers and snowboarders. The Gastein ski region in the heart of Austria comprises 4 ski areas with a total of 220 kilometres of pistes. But cross-country skiers also love the Gastein Valley and enjoy the healthy Nordic endurance sport on the valley trail or the snow-sure high-altitude trail. Those who want to get to know the cold season from its gentler side will find the opportunity to do so on winter hikes. Tobogganing and romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides are also possible in the white landscape. Wherever you go: You will always be accompanied by the majestic natural scenery of the Gastein mountains around the Hotel Römerhof in Dorfgastein.

Highly trained ski instructors will teach you with joy and enthusiasm skiing and snowboarding. For advanced skiers driving style and technology are optimized. For the kids there are in addition to the lessons an exciting weekly program.

Variety plays a very important role in our cuisine and we also like to take a look beyond the region's culinary horizons - but always with the awareness that sustainability is part of it.

Experience the "Weinroas" in Grossarltal. Top Austrian winegrowers present their most exquisite wines in numerous (approx. 11) top Grossarl hotels.
Stroll from hotel to hotel and enjoy small bites with the best wines from Austria. Collect stamps for your Genuss-Pass at the individual hotels. You will receive this on arrival.

Ski rental and sportswear

The in-meeting point, at the highest point of the Reiteralm, right next to the 6-seater chairlift. You can really relax on the large sun terrace and just enjoy the beautiful view. There are also deck chairs.

Built in 2010 according to plans by Kuehn Malvezzi, it is located right next to the meadows where the horses of the Wetzlgut graze in summer, hence the name »Rossalm«. We fulfill our wish to cook “everyone’s favorite dish” with a fine selection of seasonal delicacies with regionally sustainably produced basic products.

In winter we serve Austrian delicacies for lunch. In the evening we will be happy to spoil you with a candle light dinner! The Rossalm is excellent with a fork in the Falstaff! And thanks to our guests, we have received the "Certificate of Excellence 2016" from TripAdvisor through numerous positive reviews. We would like to thank all guests who have made us this success!
