At the Rauchkopfhütte our guests can enjoy a range of traditional Austrian and international home-made dishes served in a cosy alpine environment, boasting with character. The atmosphere is enhanced by wonderful views of the mountains from all corners, rustic interiors, occasional live music and winter sports on television. We take pride in our food and service, and do our best to ensure that our guests have a nice and comfortable stay.

Rauchkopfhütte offers inside tables, a bar, a wintergarden and three other outdoor terraces where our guests can eat, drink, relax, socialise and enjoy the sun shine with magnificent views. Our indoor restaurant and wintergarden have captured the traditional Austrian alpine atmosphere. They have tables which are protected from the wind and the cold, whereas the wintergarden has a hydraulic glass roof which opens up to convert it into an additional outside space, ideal when it is sunny but maybe a bit windy. The outdoor terraces have tables, comfortable sun beds and beach chairs which can be used for drinking and relaxing in the sun.

Our wintergarden is dedicated to non-smokers, but smoking is allowed at the bar. Rauchkopfhütte is also ideal for non-skiers who want to enjoy the food, panorama and sun shine, within easy reach from the ski-lift.

Let us spoil you in winter in our hut and on our sun terrace in the best location! Originally the Sommererbauer's stables, our "Stadl" has blossomed into one of the most rustic après-ski huts in Dienten am Hochkönig. The original year 1806 on the beam in the centre of the Bründl Stadl bears witness to its historical origins. Our open fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere in our Stadl. On our terrace you can enjoy the sun and at the same time admire the marvellous panorama of the incomparable Hochkönig.

We offer traditional cuisine. Especially the freshly prepared spare ribs are a favourite among our guests from our extensive menu. Our wine list is certainly a highlight! Ski & Wine Enjoyment Week from 9th to 16th March, 2024

During the Ski and Wine Enjoyment Week from 9th to 16th March 2024, 60 different Austrian wine rarities from top winegrowers (Prager, Kollwentz, Knoll, etc.) will also be offered by the glass throughout the week. This gives guests an unusual opportunity to enjoy Austrian wines of the highest quality.

Naturrodelbahn mit einer Länge von 3 km mit Ende direkt in Flachau!

Spezialisierung: Der Berggasthof Sattelbauer, einer der schönsten Berggasthöfe im Salzburgerland auf 1300 Metern Höhe inmitten von Wald und Wiesen, lädt zum Verweilen ein. Der herrliche Ausblick zum Griesenkar, dem mächtigen Dachstein-Massiv und der ehrfürchtigen Bischofsmütze lässt wohl jedes Wanderherz höher schlagen! Unser Lokal ist mit Holz aus einem 300 Jahre alten Bauernhaus ausgestattet. Unsere Stuben strahlen Gemütlichkeit, Behagen und herzliche Gastlichkeit aus. Die liebevollen Details erinnern an Tradition und Brauchtum. Unsere Küche ist herzhaft und bodenständig, die Produkte größtenteils aus eigener Landwirtschaft. Winterkleidung angezogen, gutes Schuhwerk mitgenommen, den Schlitten eingepackt und auf geht’s zu einer zünftigen Rodelpartie. Ob bei Tag oder Nacht, Rodeln ist vielleicht das aufregendste, geselligste und unterhaltsamste Wintervergnügen schlechthin. Die 2,5 km lange hauseigene Rodelbahn der Bellevue Alm in Bad Gastein garantiert Spaß für die ganze Familie.

Zum Shuttleberg verkehren die Linienbusse in beiden Tälern als Gratisskibusse.

Zwischen Wagrain – Kleinarl und zwischen Radstadt – Flachauwinkl fahren, bis auf Weiteres, die Linienbusse im Winterfahrplan, mit den Haltestellen an den Talstationen der Bergbahnen.

The ski lift right outside the front door you are here already in the middle, in one of the finest family ski resorts in Austria, the ski area Hochkönig, Maria Alm.

Sparkling snow crystals as far as the eye can reach. Enjoy powder skiing at its best in the Dachstein glacier ski area, that is, unsurprisingly, also called 'Austria's ski touring Eldorado'. There are countless ski mountaineering tours, steep downhills, ski routes and freerides from and to the Dachstein plateau.

The most spectacular freeride run is the 'Edelgrieß', quite a challenge for even experienced mountaineers. 

The mountain restaurant Bodenalm is one of the ski lodges in Zauchensee/Flachauwinkl. Skiers make their stop-off here and non-skiers can travel comfortably with the Highliner I on the top. Treat yourself to the dreamlike sun terrace and a  little time out and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views.
