On 13 and 14 January 2026, the superstars of the snowboarding scene will meet in the Gastein Valley. At the FIS Snowboard World Cup, the women and men will battle it out in the qualifiers for hundredths of a second to secure one of the 16 starting places for the big floodlit event.
The highly acclaimed snowboard races have been held every year since 2001 on the Buchebenwiese in Bad Gastein. The event has now developed into one of the most important and popular on the World Cup tour. No wonder: in addition to the magnificent Gastein mountains, the event also scores points with top local athletes such as Julia Dujmovits, Claudia Riegler, Andreas Prommegger and Benjamin Karl.
Many stars at the only home race
The stars of the scene will once again give their all and deliver thrilling duels at the only Alpine Snowboard World Cup race in Austria with its unique atmosphere. But the young stars also have a big say – such as Daniela Ulbing, who celebrated a home victory in the parallel slalom and team competition in 2017. They all appreciate the selective race slope in the midst of the majestic Hohe Tauern mountains.
