Experience wild animal moments

There's no room for boredom on the Wild Mountain in Mautern – wild moments, fast descents, fun and games await you!

Around 300 alpine animals welcome guests to Mautern Wildlife Park. Feedings and the bird of prey show offer exciting insights into the secrets of the animal world and at the children's farm the animals can even be stroked.

There are fun and games to be had at the children's play hut with a giant slide, climbing tower and a hayloft where they can romp and jump around. For active children, there is a play park with metre-high slides, swings, merry-go-rounds and water games – some of which are subject to a fee. When hunger strikes, there are particularly attractive and child-friendly meals in our restaurants.

The wildlife park

Around 300 Alpine animals welcome you to their home at 1,100 m above sea level. In addition to bears, wolves, owls, donkeys and ibexes, there are many other animals to discover and marvel at.

You can admire the kings of the air during our 45-minute bird of prey show in the bird of prey world. You can find out what our animals really like at different feedings 3 times a day.

At the children's farm, the animals are already waiting to be stroked:

For example, our rabbits with their cute floppy ears! The little goats are happy to be fed and our two pot-bellied lady pigs, Lea and Trixi are happy to be cuddled by brave visitors.

In addition, mice, chickens and even rats live here in their very own room!

Children's play hut

A true paradise awaits little adventurers in the children’s play hut – so it does not matter if the weather outside is awful:

  • Suspension bridges
  • Hay bed to jump into
  • Tunnel slide
  • Climbing wall
  • Handicraft and relaxation room

Play park

Would you like to defy gravity for once? Or admire the Wild Mountain from a height of 9 metres? Then head for the play park! Here you'll find slides, swings, merry-go-rounds and water games (some of which are subject to a fee):

  • In the "Big Splash" you can slide down into the water at full speed.
  • You can turn the world upside down on the moon swing.
  • On the 9-metre high perch you can discover the Wild Mountain from above.
  • Fabulous animals are hiding on the unicorn ride.
  • The giant slide is great for a little race - even against Mum and Dad.
  • You can feel the force of gravity on the butterfly.
  • The "Wild Flight" shows you what flying must feel like.

The way back down into the valley is really fast

There are 4 different routes from the middle station back down to the valley:

Mountain kart
You can also have fun on three wheels: Our mountain karts are specially designed go-karts with which you can either take it easy or go a little faster down the 1.6 km long forest road with its 12 bends back down into the valley.

Meadow glider
On 25 curves and 2 underpasses, the summer toboggan run winds its way down the Wilden mountain with a difference in altitude of 240m. Fast or slow, alone or in pairs - just as you like it, you glide safely down into the valley through the forest and meadows.

Forest hiking trail
On the hiking trail into the valley, individual stations based on the themes of wood, the forest and nature await you. Learn about the unique effect of Swiss stone pine in the aroma house or discover your musical talent on our tree drums.

Chairlift
You can, of course, also float back down into the valley on the chairlift.
