    Summer in Styria

A summer holiday in Schladming-Dachstein can be peaceful, sporty, enjoyable or full of adventure. The region in Styria combines green valleys, clear mountain lakes, scenic peaks and family-friendly excursion destinations into a varied holiday experience.

Around Schladming, Haus-Aich, Ramsau am Dachstein and Gröbminger Land you will find ideal conditions for active days in the mountains. Summer lifts in Schladming-Dachstein

The mountain lifts in Schladming-Dachstein take you quickly, safely and comfortably right into the mountain world. Instead of covering many metres of altitude on foot first, you can start exactly where panoramic trails, family experiences, bike adventures and special viewpoints begin.

With the Planai main cable car you can travel directly from the centre of Schladming to the active excursion mountain Planai. Whether it is the panoramic circular trail, Hopsiland or Bikepark Schladming: here nature, exercise and family time come together in an especially easy way. The panoramic circular trail is also well suited for a walk with a stroller.

On Hochwurzen, summit enjoyment, wide views and movement are at the centre. The summit cable car takes you to around 1,850 metres above sea level. Whether it is a cosy break on the Bankerlweg or a fast ride back down with the Mountain-GoKart: this scenic mountain offers experiences for both peaceful and active summer days.

On the Hauser Kaibling, the 8-seater gondola, the 8-seater chairlift Kaiblinggrat and the Tauern cable car comfortably take you up to family attractions, themed trails and nature experiences. A petting zoo, children's adventure trail, Schafsinn pond, sheep via ferrata and barefoot trail make this mountain especially varied for families.

You can reach the Reiteralm with the Preunegg Jet. It is ideal for anyone looking for quiet mountain moments, scenic hikes and natural idyll. The Gasselseen lakes and the Spiegelsee, where the Dachstein massif is reflected on calm days, are especially popular.

At the Rittisberg in Ramsau am Dachstein, the Rittis Coaster offers an all-weather summer toboggan run that takes you down into the valley gently or at speed, depending on how fast you go. This makes the mountain a popular destination for families and for anyone who wants to combine nature with playful experiences.

A special high-altitude feeling awaits you on the Dachstein Glacier. The panoramic gondola takes you into an alpine world of ice, rock and far-reaching views. Whether it is the Sky Walk, suspension bridge, Stairway to Nothingness, Ice Palace, new viewing platforms or the glacier restaurant with its large terrace: the Dachstein combines nature, adventure and enjoyment at the highest level.
Note: The ascent to the Dachstein Glacier is not included in summer with the Ski amadé ALL-IN Card Green or Gold.

    Hiking in Schladming-Dachstein

Hiking is one of the most beautiful ways to experience the Schladming-Dachstein region. Around 1,500 kilometres of hiking trails lead through high valleys, to mountain lakes, along spring and water trails and up to scenic peaks.

The summer lifts make it easier to start many tours. This means you can begin at higher altitudes and save your energy for what matters most: the trail, the view and your time in the mountains.

From relaxed panoramic loops to multi-day long-distance hiking routes, Schladming-Dachstein offers suitable trails for different needs. Families choose short themed trails and child-friendly circular routes. Experienced mountain lovers head higher up towards summits, via ferratas and alpine landscapes.

A special meeting point for bike fans is the Bikepark Schladming on the Planai. There you can expect flow trails, sporty descents and real mountain bike experiences. If you prefer a more relaxed pace, the region also has e-bike routes with lovely places to stop and scenic views.

Thanks to the combination of mountain lifts, bike offers and nature experiences, planning a biking day is especially flexible.

Schladming-Dachstein is especially varied for families in summer. Many mountain lifts take you directly to playgrounds, themed trails, animal experiences and family-friendly attractions.

On the Planai, Hopsiland invites you to spend an active day with children. On Hauser Kaibling, highlights include a petting zoo, children's adventure trail, Schafsinn pond and barefoot trail. On Hochwurzen, rest areas, views and Mountain-GoKarts bring variety. On Rittisberg, the Rittis Coaster adds extra excitement to the holiday day.

Small and big adventures are included too: summer tobogganing, rafting, canyoning, paragliding or the Zipline Stoderzinken provide special family moments depending on age and experience. Anyone who likes climbing will also find numerous via ferratas in the region with different levels of difficulty. This means every holiday day can be tailored to the family: relaxed, playful or full of action.
