Skiing & snowboarding in the Sportgastein ski area
At an altitude of 1,590 to 2,650 meters, Sportgastein is the highest ski area in Ski amadé. Its high-alpine location ensures excellent snow conditions and a long season – often well into spring.
Wide, clearly laid-out slopes offer plenty of space for dynamic turns and athletic skiing. At the same time, you can enjoy an impressive panorama of the surrounding mountain landscape of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Anyone skiing here experiences the sport in a particularly pristine alpine setting.

Off-piste training in Sportgastein
If you want to improve your skills in open terrain, Sportgastein offers ideal training opportunities.
In the immediate vicinity of the valley station of the Goldbergbahn, there is a large avalanche search field. Here you can practise using avalanche transceivers in realistic conditions and train important steps for an emergency.
Guided off-piste tours are offered as part of special events, such as the X-Perience Day, as well as on request with local freeride guides.
