Nestled in the Enns Valley mountains with direct views of the Dachstein massif. Dream pistes and panoramic views promise unforgettable ski days. The Planai ski area in Styria, together with Hochwurzen, is located in the heart of the Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area. Together with Hauser Kaibling and Reiteralm, the four mountains form a ski circuit with 123 kilometres of pistes and 43 modern cable car and lift facilities. Here you can experience pure skiing enjoyment and winter fun in the Schladming-Dachstein region.

    Skiing & snowboarding in the Planai ski area

    Whether you're a beginner, a fast-paced skier, or a pleasure skier, Planai has the right slopes for everyone. Thanks to highly efficient snowmaking systems, the pistes are freshly prepared every day for the ski day ahead. Highlights for skiers and snowboarders, including a sound slope with musical accompaniment and the Hopsi Winter Children's Area, make for a varied day on the mountain. The most legendary run on Planai is the 4.6 km FIS descent from the summit down to the valley, ending in the famous Planai finish slope.

    Adrenaline and action on Planai

    At the Superpark Planai, you can look forward to lines of different difficulty levels packed with jumps, rails and kickers for endless shredding fun. Freeskiers and snowboarders can let off steam on the beginner, medium and pro kicker lines and enjoy plenty of airtime. The snowpark is located in the upper Weitmoos area and is easy to reach via the Märchenwiesebahn.

    Right next door, the Funslope and Funcross offer varied descents with banked turns, snow waves and tunnels - ideal for beginners and pros alike.

    On the race and speed runs on Planai, you can test your speed: the race course at the middle station has 25 direction gates, and your run is even filmed on the Ski-Movie course in the Weitmoos area. On the speed run, a timing board shows your personal record.

    Ski schools & courses

    In a large ski area like the Schladming Planai, there are of course professional ski schools and a wide range of courses. Children, adults and returning skiers can learn to ski or snowboard here, or improve their skills.

    From classic ski schools to freestyle schools and your own private ski instructor, the lessons are tailored to your wishes and abilities.

    Family offers & children's area

    On a ski holiday at Planai, families can look forward to a special winter experience with the Hopsi Winter Children's Area and the winter hiking trail. The children's ski world around Märchenwiese offers many play stations such as slides, climbing walls and a wooden tipi, as well as skiing fun on the Funslope and Funcross run. Non-skiers also get their money's worth: at Kasalm and the Dachstein gondola, playful elements provide entertainment.

    The 2-kilometre winter hiking trail starts at Märchenwiesenhütte, leads past the "Little China area" and invites you to enjoy unforgettable family time with rest areas and panoramic views. Tobogganing around and in Schladming through the snowy landscape rounds off the offer. With Hopsi, the mascot, children can go on a little world tour!     Ski touring

    Ski touring on Planai is also very popular with our guests. The ski tour starts at Planai middle station / Lärchkogel valley station and first leads up the WM trail to Lärchkogel. From there, it continues to the Planai summit at 1,906 m.
