Gastein - a valley that opens up new ways
Winter sports away from the crowds
In the Gastein Valley, you can experience the sport on 40 kilometres of trails as varied as the landscape itself, making it the ideal open-air fitness studio. At the unique high plateau of Sportgastein at 1,500 metres, you can marvel at the 3,000-metre peaks of the national park. At the beginning of December, Sportgastein also hosts the spectacular prologue races of the Ski Classics for professionals and recreational racers. The Angertal features fairytale-like forest sections, and in Dorfgastein and Bad Hofgastein you can enjoy the valley's night-time tranquillity under floodlights.
On track at Hochkönig
Breathing in mountain air on the cross-country trails
Would you like to fit in a cross-country skiing session in the evening? Even at night, when the moon shines from the sky, cross-country skiers have access to a night trail at Hochkönig.
In the moonlight, you can then glide calmly through the two tracks. There are also high-altitude trails with a total length of 40 kilometres waiting for Nordic cross-country enthusiasts.
Cross-country skiing in Grossarltal
From classic cross-country skiing to skating
25 kilometres of groomed cross-country trails in Grossarl and Hüttschlag await keen cross-country skiers.
