At Hauser Kaibling, the summer day begins with sheep on the alpine pasture, wide Dachstein views and plenty of paths into family adventures. Whether petting zoo, Schafsinn pond, pushchair-friendly adventure trail, Water Zorbing, hiking or e-biking: the highest mountain in the Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area combines nature, activity and enjoyable moments in the huts.

    Experiences for young and old

    • Sheep experience: 800 woolly companions on the whole mountain.
    • Petting zoo: At 1,400 metres above sea level, enjoy soft, cuddly moments with sheep, lambs, ponies, goats, rabbits and more.
    • Water Zorbing: Walk across the water in giant water balls - without getting wet.
    • Paddler boats: Simply turn the hand cranks and you move forwards, backwards or around bends on the water.
    • Schafsinnteich: with sheep via ferrata, Schaferlspringen, sheep whispers, barefoot path and more.
    • Children’s adventure trail: Puzzle and discovery fun for children on the circular trail from the Senderplateau to the Kaiblingalm and back again. Suitable for pushchairs.
    • Playgrounds: Exciting play equipment provides lots of fun.
    • Paragliding: Discover the mountain from above.

    Family adventures at Hauser Kaibling

    The mountain of enjoyment for the whole family

    Hauser Kaibling, the highest mountain in the Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area, is not only a highlight in winter, but also a paradise for families in summer. Here, breathtaking nature, animal experiences and action-packed adventures meet culinary delights.

    More than 800 sheep roam the Hauser Kaibling. You can look forward to a petting zoo, the children’s adventure trail, the Schafsinn pond with a sheep via ferrata, the Schafsinn barefoot path and much more around the theme of sheep. Exciting playgrounds, themed hiking trails for young and old, beautiful e-bike tours, Water Zorbing and much more attract visitors to these lofty heights. Spectacular viewpoints, such as from the summit at 2,015 metres, and culinary delights in the summer huts guarantee an enjoyable and relaxing mountain experience.

    Hiking & Bike

    In summer, many hikers and families are drawn to Hauser Kaibling, where adventure and relaxation go hand in hand. Whether hiking, (e-)mountain biking, paragliding or mountaineering – there is plenty for young and old to discover here. Families in particular can look forward to a holiday full of experiences and adventures. The impressive view from the summit at 2,015 metres and the regional specialities served in our summer huts, such as specialities made from Ennstal lamb, are the perfect end to an eventful day.

    Hiking options:
    What a hiking paradise! From the Schafsinn circular trail with breathtaking views to the pushchair-friendly adventure trail into the natural gem Kaiblingalm and the several-hour summit tour to Höchstein, it has it all. Recommendation: an alpine rose blossom hike via the Schafsinn circular trail to the idyllic Moaralmsee.

    Starting point for beautiful hikes: e.g. Hauser Kaibling summit at 2,015 m as the highest point of the Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area (direct 30 min, circular trail 2h); high-altitude hike to the natural gem Moaralmsee (1h45min), Bärfallspitze (2h) and Höchstein summit tour (3h).

    E-mountain bike tours:
    Hauser Kaibling offers dreamy e-bike tours for all skill levels. Our tip for families: the breathtakingly beautiful and easy descents of the Gumpental loop with a subsequent ride on to the idyllic “Styrian Bodensee”. With the 8-seater gondola lift, you can take your bike up to the middle station, where all (e-)bike tours start. At the valley station of the 8-seater gondola lift, the latest e-bikes for the whole family can be hired.

    Culinary enjoyment on the mountain

    There is plenty to experience on Hauser Kaibling, so a cosy stop for refreshments is a must. Taking a break in the beautiful summer alpine huts on Hauser Kaibling rewards you with tasty Styrian dishes and a fantastic view of the Dachstein massif and the beautiful Enns Valley.
