At Hauser Kaibling, the summer day begins with sheep on the alpine pasture, wide Dachstein views and plenty of paths into family adventures. Whether petting zoo, Schafsinn pond, pushchair-friendly adventure trail, Water Zorbing, hiking or e-biking: the highest mountain in the Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area combines nature, activity and enjoyable moments in the huts.

Family adventures at Hauser Kaibling

The mountain of enjoyment for the whole family

The Hauser Kaibling, the highest peak in the Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area, is not only a highlight in winter but also a paradise for families in summer. Here, breathtaking natural scenery, encounters with animals and action-packed adventures combine with culinary delights.

More than 800 sheep spend the summer on the alpine pastures of the Hauser Kaibling. Wollis Berg Welt delights visitors with numerous play, adventure and hands-on stations such as the SCHAFspielTurm, SCHAFsprungTurm, the SCHAFwerkstatt, the petting zoo, the SCHAFsinnTeich, the barefoot trail and many other attractions. The programme is complemented by a varied weekly programme featuring guided hikes, water zorbing and other activities for the whole family.

Spectacular viewpoints – such as from the 2,015-metre-high summit – as well as regional delicacies in the summer huts ensure an enjoyable mountain experience.

Hiking & Bike

In summer, the Hauser Kaibling attracts walkers, families and leisurely cyclists. Whether it’s hiking, (e-)mountain biking, paragliding or mountaineering – nature lovers of all ages will find something to suit them here. Families can look forward to varied walking trails, impressive views and plenty of experiences along the way. The cosy summer huts, serving regional specialities and offering magnificent views of the Dachstein massif and the Enn Valley, provide the perfect end to an eventful day.

Hiking options:
The Hauser Kaibling offers hiking enjoyment to suit all fitness levels – from leisurely family walks to summit hikes with stunning views. Particularly popular are the Schafsinn Circular Trail, the pushchair-friendly path through the Kaiblingalm, and hikes to the Bärfallspitze, the Höchstein or the idyllic Moaralmsee.

  • Schafsinn Circular Trail (long route) with stunning panoramic views (2.5 hours)
  • Schafsinn Circular Trail (short route) – suitable for pushchairs (1.5 hours)

E-mountain bike tours:
The Hauser Kaibling offers fantastic e-bike tours for all ability levels. The 8-seater gondola lift takes you and your bike comfortably to the midway station, where numerous tours begin. Modern e-bikes for all ages can be hired directly at the valley station.

Culinary enjoyment on the mountain

After an eventful day, the cosy summer huts at Hauser Kaibling are the perfect place to stop for a break. Regional specialities, warm hospitality and stunning views of the Dachstein massif and the Enn Valley make every break a special treat.

Popular places to stop for a break include the Krummholzhütte, the TOMiziel and the Kaiblingalm.
