In winter, the mountains attract skiers and snowboarders. The Gastein ski region in the heart of Austria comprises 4 ski areas with a total of 220 kilometres of pistes. But cross-country skiers also love the Gastein Valley and enjoy the healthy Nordic endurance sport on the valley trail or the snow-sure high-altitude trail. Those who want to get to know the cold season from its gentler side will find the opportunity to do so on winter hikes. Tobogganing and romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides are also possible in the white landscape. The name of the region is written in capital letters on a wooden structure on the Stubnerkogel in Bad Gastein. The approximately 3-metre-high lettering not only serves as an eye-catcher and photo opportunity, but also as a place to sit on the mountain. In addition to the magnificent view, you can also capture your mountain experience without taking a selfie.

Only about 200 metres away from the hotel is the entrance point to our family ski area in Filzmoos, which is also part of Austria's largest ski association, Ski amadé. The skiing area is an absolute insider tip for connoisseurs and the snow-hungry. Local produce is a priority for us. Basically, our aim is to process as many products as possible from local animals, local farmers and sustainable agriculture.
