During the skiing and wine tasting week from March 14 to 21, 2026, we offer our guests at the Waldgasthof some special highlights. 

Our restaurants are as diverse and charming as the entire hotel complex. Here you can enjoy the culinary delights in a stylish ambience, sit comfortably together and let yourself be pampered by our service team.

In the land of Kaiserschmarrn and Wiener Schnitzel, culinary art plays a special role. In the Wachtelhof, guests are served Austrian fusion cuisine that allows them to rediscover childhood memories. Honest and unadulterated dishes are served here using high-quality, fresh ingredients – primarily from the region.

In summer and winter the chef seduces his guests with a multi-course menu. Breakfast and dinner can be taken in the hotel's delicacy restaurant or in the Zirbelstube, a rustic, very private séparée with space for 20-25 guests. The parlor exudes history and cosiness and is suitable for festive occasions.

Mit dem Postbus, Skibus oder Auto geht es bis nach Hüttschlag und weiter in den malerischen Talschluss. Ruhe und Stille bestimmen hier am Eingang zum Nationalpark Hohe Tauern das Tempo. Am gemütlichsten geht´s mit der Pferdekutsche weiter (Anmeldung erforderlich) oder man spaziert zu Fuß die 2 km durch die tief verschneite Winterlandschaft vorbei an einem Wildgehege bis hin zum Ötzlsee. Zurück zum Parkplatz am selben Weg.

On three downhills in the skiarea Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl you can become a ski-superstar: Full speed ahed on the skimovie parallel-slalom and on the skimovie funslope mixed race on Gamskogel and shred down the slope at skimobie giant slalom at Kogelalm! Tobogganing is great fun for all ages.

The Kleinbergalm can be reached on foot from the centre of the village or on the Grossberg chairlift. The alpine hut and the toboggan run are very popular – in the evenings too.

Sonnalm Zauchensee – Sense of home and cosiness at 1740 metre altitude int the middle of the ski area Zauchensee. Traditional cottage in old wood with great sun terrace and outlook to the mountain world directly at the slope.
