The name of the region is written in capital letters on a wooden structure on the Stubnerkogel in Bad Gastein. The approximately 3-metre-high lettering not only serves as an eye-catcher and photo opportunity, but also as a place to sit on the mountain. In addition to the magnificent view, you can also capture your mountain experience without taking a selfie.

A heart-warming moment is guaranteed when tobogganing on the Galsterberg. The 5 km long natural toboggan run not only offers fast-paced fun, but also a perfect stopover with a fantastic photo point that opens up a breathtaking view over the Enns Valley.

The mountain station of the 8-seater Rosskopfbahn cable car at 1,930 metres is a popular meeting point in the ski area and an ideal vantage point with great photo opportunities. Our mascot ‘Zauchi’ is looking forward to a photo with you. You can immortalise yourselves with a ‘love lock’ at the ‘love heart’. The Rosskopf is one of the three Zauchensee peaks of the challenging ‘12 Peaks Trophy’.

Cross-country skiing

According to snow and weather conditions, you can choose from a great offer of cross-country trails. Along the river Enns or the "Dörferlanglaufloipe" Haus-Aich-Pruggern, the " Kufsteinloipe" in Weißenbach, or the "Sonnenloipe" in Birnberg, both classic and skating runners will enjoy it to the full.

In the land of Kaiserschmarrn and Wiener Schnitzel, culinary art plays a special role. In the Wachtelhof, guests are served Austrian fusion cuisine that allows them to rediscover childhood memories. Honest and unadulterated dishes are served here using high-quality, fresh ingredients – primarily from the region.

In summer and winter the chef seduces his guests with a multi-course menu. Breakfast and dinner can be taken in the hotel's delicacy restaurant or in the Zirbelstube, a rustic, very private séparée with space for 20-25 guests. The parlor exudes history and cosiness and is suitable for festive occasions.

In winter, the mountains attract skiers and snowboarders. The Gastein ski region in the heart of Austria comprises 4 ski areas with a total of 220 kilometres of pistes. But cross-country skiers also love the Gastein Valley and enjoy the healthy Nordic endurance sport on the valley trail or the snow-sure high-altitude trail. Those who want to get to know the cold season from its gentler side will find the opportunity to do so on winter hikes. Tobogganing and romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides are also possible in the white landscape. In summer, the fun & pro Bike Academy is an institution for bikers and has been since 1992. In addition to guided MTB and e-bike tours, there is riding technique training for all bikers.
