In winter, the mountains attract skiers and snowboarders. The Gastein ski region in the heart of Austria comprises 4 ski areas with a total of 220 kilometres of pistes. But cross-country skiers also love the Gastein Valley and enjoy the healthy Nordic endurance sport on the valley trail or the snow-sure high-altitude trail. Those who want to get to know the cold season from its gentler side will find the opportunity to do so on winter hikes. Tobogganing and romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides are also possible in the white landscape. When locking, for strengthening or "only" for sunbathing on the large terrace - Skihaserl, tourers or Carver Kings and families make their stop-off here!

In Grossarl and Hüttschlag you can go cross country skiing on 25 km of tracked trails. For the most part, the trails in our region are tracked for classic as well as “skating” technique.

In Grossarl as well as Hüttschlag, there are cross-country trails lit up after dark on certain days. The ca. 2 km-long night trail in Grossarl is at the Reitwiese, open to skiers Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6 until 8:30 p.m. In Hüttschlag, there is a ca. 3 km-long floodlit trail next to the Aschaustüberl. This is available to all skiers on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 6 and 8:30 p.m.

Enjoyment means something different for everyone. Some love to relax on vacation, to eat well and to unwind. The others relax actively while skiing, biking or hiking. Our pleasure hotel is located in the heart of Altenmarkt, near Zauchensee, and is the ideal starting point for all these activities. With us you can be who you are. The only important thing is that you enjoy your vacation. If we can do that, we will have achieved our goal.
