During the skiing and wine tasting week from March 14 to 21, 2026, we offer our guests at the Sternalm some special highlights. 

On three downhills in the skiarea Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl you can become a ski-superstar: Full speed ahed on the skimovie parallel-slalom and on the skimovie funslope mixed race on Gamskogel and shred down the slope at skimobie giant slalom at Kogelalm! In Grossarl and Hüttschlag you can go cross country skiing on 25 km of tracked trails. For the most part, the trails in our region are tracked for classic as well as “skating” technique.

In Grossarl as well as Hüttschlag, there are cross-country trails lit up after dark on certain days. The ca. 2 km-long night trail in Grossarl is at the Reitwiese, open to skiers Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6 until 8:30 p.m. In Hüttschlag, there is a ca. 3 km-long floodlit trail next to the Aschaustüberl. This is available to all skiers on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 6 and 8:30 p.m.

A nice, comfortable ride up to the middle station of the „Rote 8er“ gondola takes you to the heart of  WAGRAINi's Winterworld.
WAGRAINi will be there when you have your first go at skiing. Try the magic carpet, before you make your first little turns down to WAGRAINi or to the Edelweiß Lift. The loooooooooooooong forest magic carpet takes you to the tubing slope where you can also find the Kids Beginners’ Snowpark. It gets creative in WAGRAINI's dwarf house : painting, handicrafts, picture books etc…. Warm yourself up before you go back out for more fun in the snow. Mum, Dad, Granny, Grandpa... we look after you too! Even if you don’t ski, you can take your pushchair or your sledge in the „Rote 8er“ gondola and have a fun time in the snow. Single tickets for non-skiers are available.
