In addition to our hiking paradise in summer, the mountain world in the Hochkönig region also offers untouched nature in winter, over 85 km of groomed winter hiking trails, snowshoe trails and an enchanting winter landscape.

Discover the decelerating winter sport, which leads you through deep snow-covered forests and rustic ski huts, past breathtaking views, into the Salzburg Alps. The fresh mountain air not only revives your health but also provides for a romantic moment or two.

You can already enjoy an impressive view of the striking Bischofsmütze and the imposing Dachstein massif on the journey on the Papagenobahn. Once you reach the mountain station at an altitude of 1,600 metres, you are treated to a magnificent view of the majestic Bischofsmütze, a true landmark of the region. Invigorated by the power emanating from the queen of the Salzburg summit game, you can now enjoy the perfectly groomed slopes of filzmoos.ski to the full. Surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery, the pistes not only offer sporting pleasure, but also unique relaxation for body and soul and culinary delights in the cosy ski huts. The Restaurant “Zum Holzwurm” was opened in 1988 by Brunhilde and Willi Gappmaier and is a culinary fixture in the region around Flachau. In summer our cosy terrace entices guests to dine, celebrate and enjoy each other’s company. There’s a great children’s playground in front of our restaurant in Flachau. In winter skiers pop in for breakfast – as the restaurant is situated right on the slopes of the Snow Space Salzburg in Ski amadé.
 

An open-air ice rink (900 m²) makes ice skating even more enjoyable. In Altenmarkt-Zauchensee there is a natural ice rink in the community park.

The Flying Coaster provides a breathtaking rollercoaster feeling and a high fun factor. From the bottom station of the zipline, a thin tube leads down into the forest at a height of between 3 and 12 metres and is built in the design of a roller coaster with up and down elements. Guests whizz past the ground and trees at speeds of up to 40 km/h down into the valley. The track is around 800 metres long and covers a height difference of over 100 metres. A ride on the Flying Coaster in Gröbming guarantees a pure adrenaline rush.
