In winter, the mountains attract skiers and snowboarders. The Gastein ski region in the heart of Austria comprises 4 ski areas with a total of 220 kilometres of pistes. But cross-country skiers also love the Gastein Valley and enjoy the healthy Nordic endurance sport on the valley trail or the snow-sure high-altitude trail. Those who want to get to know the cold season from its gentler side will find the opportunity to do so on winter hikes. Tobogganing and romantic horse-drawn sleigh rides are also possible in the white landscape. For skiers and snowboarders, the ski bus to and from the ski stations for winter sports is free of charge. Groups can only be transported by pre-booking (book by 5.00 pm the day before on +43-6542-4000).

No winter holiday is complete without trying an exciting toboggan ride, which is sure to bring back some fond childhood memories! What could be more beautiful, after all, than hurtling down the snowy winter landscape through the forest and into the valley?

The 2.5-kilometre long natural toboggan run is ideally maintained. Night owls will also be able to have their fun – with the toboggan run and walking route lit in the evening! 

Fatbikes sind besondere Mountainbikes, gebaut speziell für den Einsatz auf Schnee. Die extrem breiten Ballonreifen ermöglichen leichten Lauf und einfaches Handling bei allen Schneebedingungen. Durch ihre sicheren Fahreigenschaften sind Fatbikes auch für Kinder (ab 12 Jahren) geeignet.
Ramsau am Dachstein bietet mit seinen vielen ständig präparierten Winterwanderrouten, Schlittenwegen und geräumten Forststraßen ideale Voraussetzungen auch im Winter mal aufs Fahrrad zu steigen.
