If you like wintersports and would like to spend your skiing holidays in Austria, you definitely have to join some apres-ski-party. At the Bachwirt the apres ski is small, friendly and fun. In winter our sun-patio is our apres-ski-bar and between 4:00 and 7:00 PM it is time to party in front of the restaurant Bachwirt in Maria Alm.

Frische Produkte aus der Region, einfach gut zubereitet – vom knusprigen Backhenderl, tollen Pfannengerichten, fangfrischen Forellen, knackigen Salaten bis hin zu den heißgeliebten Pizzen. Mit dem einzigartigen Flair der Gastein Alm, in der Rauchkuchl für die Raucher, in der neuen Herzerlstube für kleinere Gruppen ist das Leben einfach schön. With an environmentally friendly and ecological, completely Co² neutral ice surface of 800 m², the Seminar- und Landhotel Häuserl im Wald offers a year-round ice sports facility for curling and ice skating!

At the entrance of the Gastein valley 60 m over the access road on the Klammstein is Klammstein castle, probably the area’s oldest, historical building. The earliest settlement of the valley began here. Many famous lineages expanded this castle for the protection of the valley and its residents. Until the 16th century, the headquarters of mining and jurisdiction were found here.
In the following centuries, the no longer used castle became dilapidated. In 1972, the main tower of Klammstein castle was renovated and today houses a museum, which you can visit.

A built 90% of wood in 1932 hut. It offers a breathtaking view of the Pinzgauer Kalkalpen and the Leoganger Steinberge or the Hochkönig. After skiing or after a hike, we will spoil you with all kinds of delicious treats, with products from our own farm.

Whether summer or winter – the mountains of the world are Gernot`s home. As your guide in Gastein, he will explore the local mountain ranges with a series of exciting outdoor activities at any time of the year.

With more than 20 years of experience as ski instructor and alpine guide in Gastein, Gernot will accompany you to the highest peaks in Europe and assists you in technic and security issues.

With e-bikes into the mountains: With e-bikes, lonely remote peaks can be easily made as a day tour or various fixed rope routes can be reached.

Highest Farmers' Market in the Alps from 09 to 16 March, 2024

During the Farmers' Market week from 9 to 16 March 2024, daily specials with traditional dishes will be offered. 
The big Farmers' Market will take place on Sunday, 10 March 2024 – fresh meat fritters and a variety of market stalls will be available.
