On three downhills in the skiarea Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl you can become a ski-superstar: Full speed ahed on the skimovie parallel-slalom and on the skimovie funslope mixed race on Gamskogel and shred down the slope at skimobie giant slalom at Kogelalm! With the elevator "World Cup Express", which is located directly next to the top station of the Schwarzwandbahn, you go up to the Gamskogel. Here is not only the start of the spectacular World Cup slope, but also a fabulously beautiful vantage point. The highest excursion point in the "Salzburger Sportwelt", which can be reached by lift, is thanks to the World Cup final in 2002, when the downhill course was extended to include the steep starting slope on the Gamskogel. The World Cup Express is usually open in fair weather during the main season (except during race preparation and World Cup races).

A trip through the white mountains is an unforgettable experience. In winter, hot air balloon rides are performed from Flaggl Balloning GmbH in Filzmoos. Further information at the tourist information.

...but none is as special as the Tom alpine cabin. This may be due to the fact that in the whole of Maria Alm, no, in the whole of Salzburger Land, there is no other alpine hut with a pug (Choupette is her precious name) as a mascot. But probably also because of how we run our hut. 

In addition to a spectacular mountain panorama, we offer a good dose of taste: modern architecture is combined with rustic hut charm, the bubbly for the sundowner is specially created and the menu delivers what an alpine hut promises. Anyone expecting a classic ski lodge on the mountain will be surprised here - but that's exactly how we like it.
 

Ski & Wine Enjoyment Week from 14th to 21st March, 2026

During the skiing and wine tasting week from March 14 to 21, 2026, we offer our guests at the Gastein Alm some special highlights. 

Our "experience restaurant" with guest kindergarten and sports shop at the "Abergbahn" invites you to dinner (beef from our own organic farm!), Après ski or for cozy hours.

Panorama snowshoe hike between Grossarl and Dorfgastein

Ascent with the new Kieserlbahn to the mountain station at 1,954 metres. Once at the top, the first refreshment stop is the new WOLKE 7 summit restaurant with 360° panoramic terrace. The panoramic snowshoe trail leads to the Arltörl 1,797 m and on via the Heumoosalm (not serviced) to the middle station of the Fulseck summit lift. Take the cable car back up to the mountain station. Once at the top, the Hauserbauer Gipfelstadl invites you to take a cosy break. Take the winter hiking trail back to the Kieserlbahn mountain station.

The Flowtrail Hochkönig leads from the Bürglalm, below the reservoir, along a dirt road to the edge of the forest. From there starts an action-packed trail for the whole family - whether mountain biker or eBiker - the Flowtrail Hochkönig is suitable for every type of biker.
Through the idyllic landscape with a view of the Hochkönig, you feel pure adrenaline!
