The Fichtel country on Hochbifang in Altenmarkt
On the Altenmarkt side of the Radstadt / Altenmarkt there on Hochbifang a unique forest with very special trees. In this forest grow namely spruces with extraordinary abilities! Every year in winter the spruce throw their Fichtenzapfen on the forest floor, and from some of these pins there are formed small creatures that exist only in this forest in Altenmarkt: the Fichtel!

at the valley station of the 8 Königslehenbahn in Radstadt.
Also at the 6 km long toboggan run Königslehen and the Tauern cross-country trail. Ski school and ski rental directly in front of the house.

At the Gamskogel II mountain station at 2,106 metres, you are right in front of the impressively steep start slope of the Zauchensee World Cup course. The mascot ‘Zauchi’ is a popular photo motif, and with the photo point you can capture your holiday memories without anyone being missing from the picture!
