Planai

The Planai is located in the middle of the Schladming 4-Mountains ski area.

Embedded in the Ennstal mountains with a direct view of the Dachstein. Fantastic slopes and views promise unforgettable skiing days. Together with the Hochwurzen, the Planai forms the centre of the Schladming 4-Mountains ski area. Also with Hauser Kaibling and Reiteralm, the four mountains form a ski circuit with 123 kilometres of slopes and 44 modern cable cars and lifts. 56 huts await you with culinary delicacies and a whole range of offers for the whole family, both for athletes and connoisseurs. Here you can experience pure skiing enjoyment and winter fun.

Skiing fun is guaranteed on the Planai

Whether you are a beginner skier, a speed demon or you just ski for fun - on the Planai there are the right slopes for everyone. Thanks to highly efficient snow-making facilities, the slopes can be ideally prepared for the upcoming ski day every day. Many slope highlights and the Hopsi Winter Children's Land ensure a varied day's skiing. The most legendary slope on the Planai is the 4.6 km long FIS downhill run from the Planai summit down to the valley, which finds its crowning glory in the famous Planai finishing slope.

Hopsi Winter Children's Land

Great fun for the little guests

Strap on your skis and take it easy through Little China or directly to the Croco Trophy. The Funslope and the Funcross course offer steep curves and fast snow waves for speedy skiers. On skis, there are many forest animals made of wood to look at along the newly designed forest trail.

There is also a lot to discover here for non-skiers: playful elements at the "Kasalm" in the area of the Hopsi Express valley station or at the Dachstein gondola offer winter fun even without skis.

Hopsi winter hiking trail

Away from the slopes, you can really enjoy the winter landscape on the 3 kilometre long circular hiking trail. From the Hopsi Express bottom station you pass the "Little China area".

The official starting point of the Hopsi winter hiking trail is at the fairytale meadow hut. The Styrian corner is on route and invites you to take a rest.

Walking time approx. 45 minutes.

Super Park Planai

Lines with different levels of difficulty, many jumps, rails, kickers and other obstacles await you in the Planai Super Park.

The park is divided into a beginner, medium and pro kicker line.

The Super Park Planai is located in the upper Weitmoos area, easily accessible via the Märchenwiesebahn lift and the Weitmoos downhill run.

Funslope and Funcross

On these special, innovative runs – located right next to the Planai Super Park – you can expect a great deal to do, with elements from the snow park, boardercross and the slope.

No matter whether you are a beginner or a professional – it's a lot of fun in any case.

Race and speed tracks

Who is faster? You can answer this question on the race and speed tracks of the Planai. The permanent race course in the area of the Planai middle station offers a total of 25 gates over a length of 120 metres.

On the free Ski Movie track in the Weitmoos area, your race run is even filmed so that you can then analyse it from home. The specially marked fast schuss course is equipped with permanent speed measuring. A glance at the timing board will reveal your personal record.

More than just winter sports

In addition to the classic slopes and piste highlights, there are many other attractions on the Planai that you can discover in the course of a day's skiing:

  • Steiereck Planai with selfie spot for that slightly different holiday photo
  • Skiline "Live-Photo point" at the panorama deck of the Lärchkogel top station
  • Warm-up spot Lärchkogel for the perfect start to the day
  • Ski memorial plaza to honour our "old companions" as well
  • Original photo points

Ski Touring

Ski touring is becoming ever more popular. On the Planai, too, our guests have their own ski touring track which is available for use. This starts from the Planai middle station / Lärchkogel top station and leads in the first section via the WM path up to the Lärchkogel. It then continues to the Planai summit at 1,906 m. The ticket must be purchased in advance at the ticket office at the Lärchkogel bottom station.
