A real highlight in the Paularei is the unique concept of space, flexible regions and different heights react to each other in the perfect way and fascinate with gentle contrasts. No winter holiday is complete without trying an exciting toboggan ride, which is sure to bring back some fond childhood memories! What could be more beautiful, after all, than hurtling down the snowy winter landscape through the forest and into the valley?

The 2.5-kilometre long natural toboggan run is ideally maintained. Night owls will also be able to have their fun – with the toboggan run and walking route lit in the evening! 

The Loosbühelalm is also open in winter.

Enjoy a fantastic winter scenery at 1,769 m (away from the ski slopes). You can reach the Alm with tourn skis, snowshoes, on foot or with a taxi. The cozy parlors invite you to rest, where you will be spoiled with farm products. Toboggans are available for hire on the Loosbühelalm.

In winter, when the cold mountain air of the Schladminger Tauern whips across your face outside, the smell of homemade Kaiserschmarren wafting over from the Schafalm lures you inside the cozy hut. The friendly staff there do their part to guarantee a perfect break before your next run down the Planai. In the winter months, the Schafalm is also home to a number of woolly four-legged creatures, "Valais blacknose sheep" who spend the winter in the adjacent barn (which you are also invited to peek inside), before returning to the lush green alpine meadows of the Planai in summer.
