The approx. 1.5 km long winter hiking trail starts at the mountain station and leads to one of the two heart points. The second heart point can be found along the 5 km long natural toboggan run. A winter magic on two runners invites you to an adventurous toboggan run both during the day and at night.

In winter, when the cold mountain air of the Schladminger Tauern whips across your face outside, the smell of homemade Kaiserschmarren wafting over from the Schafalm lures you inside the cozy hut. The friendly staff there do their part to guarantee a perfect break before your next run down the Planai. In the winter months, the Schafalm is also home to a number of woolly four-legged creatures, "Valais blacknose sheep" who spend the winter in the adjacent barn (which you are also invited to peek inside), before returning to the lush green alpine meadows of the Planai in summer. An absolute highlight at the Schafalm, especially for younger guests.
