Schlossalm & Stubnerkogel
NEW: on 1st December 2018 the new Schlossalmbahn goes into operation.
Ski on the Stubnerkogel
The Schlossalm - Angertal - Stubnerkogel ski area is the largest interdependent ski area in the Gasteinertal and extends from 860 – 2,300 m above sea level. Runs with a height difference of more than 1,000 m promise varied piste pleasure – perfectly interconnected with modern lifts and cableways.
For beginners we recommend the practice area in the Angertal ski centre near Bad Hofgastein. Here children and greenhorns learn in a playful environment how to use alpine skis.
For more discerning skiers the Hohe Scharte Nord is particularly popular – at 10.4 km long and with a 1,440 m height difference one of the longest runs in the East Alps.
From 2016 to 2020, the Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG is investing around 85 million euros in the modernization of the Schlossalm ski area. The major construction projects were completed in 2017 and 2018. On 1st December 2018 finally the time has come: the new Schlossalmbahn goes into operation. Winter sports enthusiasts will find state-of-the-art ropeway facilities and newly designed ski slopes.

A place of reflection and a treasure of art history. The so-called Church of our Lady was built between 1498 and 1507. Its luxurious centerpiece, the Baroque altar which was the magnum opus of the painter Josef Andrä Eisl and sculptor Paul Mödlhammer, made its mark in history.
The subject of many famous painters and poets. The Gasteiner Ache drops a total of 341 m in 3 levels. The atomization of negatively ionized air has a positive and pleasant effect on general well-being. Sources of the Gasteiner Ache are the Anlaufbach and the Naßfelder Ache in the heart of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The stone waterfall bridge was built in 1840 and improved in 1927.
The waterfall path leads along the waterfall to Badbruck. The path is cleared in winter!
