Ski stars and freeride hotspot
The Zauchensee-Flachauwinkl ski resort offers varied runs, wide carving slopes, excellent freeride routes – including the legendary ‘East’ run on the Gamskogel – several tree runs and one of the most spectacular runs in the international FIS Women’s Ski World Cup. The Kälberloch run on the Gamskogel, one of the most challenging runs in the Women’s Ski World Cup, hosts the speed events: the downhill and super-G.
Zauchensee has been hosting FIS World Cup races for over 40 years – and is a hotspot for international skiing stars. For young skiers, Zauchensee is home to the Kogelalm training centre, which includes two training runs for slalom and giant slalom.
The ski resort is also regarded as a freeride hotspot. Alongside the famous ‘East’ run on the Gamskogel, there are numerous powder runs on deep-snow slopes. These are best explored with the guides from our ski schools, who know exactly where to find the perfect run.
