Maria Alm

The sports paradise in Hochkönig

The Hochkönig ski area stretches over Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach, and is one of the largest in Salzburger Land with 33 cable cars and lift facilities. On 120 kilometers of slopes, the feeling of freedom accompanies you, as do the imposing views of the Hochkönig peak and the “Steinerne Meer” (the sea of stone). In the middle of these majestic mountains lies the holiday area of Maria Alm, which is the largest of the three villages.

Experience the Königstour

a ski circuit with breathtaking panorama

6 summits, 35 continuous kilometers of slopes, an altitude of 7,500 m. This is the raw data of the Königs Tour in the Hochkönig ski resort, which has been distinguished as the best ski circuit in the Alps from the largest worldwide test portal. There is a lot more hiding behind these numbers: stunning views for new feelings of elation and the best-groomed slopes for unlimited skiing enjoyment. Along the tour, there are romantic to very modern interpreted ski huts, offering local delicacies and cuisine of the highest quality. A short break to catch your breath, is not only worthwhile at one of the many huts, but also at one of the most beautiful viewing points. They are marked by huge wooden thrones and at some there is even a photo point. The ski circuit itself can be started from all three resorts (Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach) and is clearly marked and signposted throughout the whole ski area.

Action & fun in and around the ski area

Family and winter sports enthusiasts ,who are looking for a varied program and fun along the ski slopes, are in exactly the right place in Arberg.

A Funslope stretches out along from the 6-man chairlift-Schönanger and takes you over 850 meters of steep turns, little jumps, a giant spiral and funny sounds, almost down to the bottom station of the Schönanger lift. This gets even the bigger skiers excited.

TIP: Directly on the piste and in the centre of Maria Alm, almost 1,400 ski guests can store their winter sports equipment safely and dryly at the valley station of the Natrun 10-seater gondola lift. Depending on the number of people, you can choose between a locker for 2 or 4 people. Bookings are made at the Natrunbahn ticket office and the existing ski pass is used as the access system.

Night skiing by floodlight at the Simmerllift in Maria Alm is a very special experience. Several times a week you can enjoy the perfectly groomed ski slope and the night skyline of Maria Alm under a clear starry sky. With sufficient snow conditions from the end of December to the end of March.
