The traditional “Almabtrieb”, the driving down of cattle from their high alpine summer pastures, has become one of Radstadt’s highlights during Salzburg’s Farmers’ Autumn and takes place on September 10th, 2022.
The parade of about 60 garlanded cows begins at the Tauernkarleiten-Alm near Untertauern and passes through Radstadt’s city center at approximately 12.30 p.m. It ends at the Untersulzberg farm, where the farm festival begins at 11.00 a.m. by serving regional delicacies. The program is rounded off by folk music, whip performers, as well as exhibitions of local crafts such as pottery, carving, etc. Children enjoy pony rides, hay jumping, milking competitions and more.
