In the high-altitude Sportgastein, on Sunday, July 17th 2022, everything revolves around the Tauern gold. Although gold mining in Gastein has long since ceased, its tradition still lives on. Traces and sites of the mining operation are still impressive witnesses to the time of the gold rush.
On the day of gold in Sportgastein, the gold rush of the past comes to life again. From 9 a.m. the Goldbergbahn takes visitors up the mountain.
