Ski amadé from A to Z

Anyone who has reached the summit of the Stubnerkogel should definitely not miss the viewpoint. Because from here you have a magnificent view of the surrounding snow-covered mountains and the Großglockner (3.798 m), one of Austria's landmarks, even in winter.

Die Geschichte von Schloss Höch geht in das 11. Jahrhundert zurück. Die heutige Hufeisenform und reiche Ausstattung eines sogenannten "Salzburger Ansitzes" hat das Schloss aber erst im 17. Jahrundert erhalten. In den 800 Jahren seiner Besitzgeschichte war Schloss Höch im wesentlichen im Eigentum von nur vier Familien, die auch landesgeschichtlich von Bedeutung waren und von denen die letzten drei, die Kölderer, die Jocher und die Plaz verwandt waren und über viele Jahrhunderte eine kontinuierliche Besitzabfolge bildeten. Erst mit dem Verkauf an Alois Rohrmooser und später mit der Übernahme durch die Gemeinde Flachau kam es zu einem Bruch dieser Kontinuität der Dynastien.

In winter the countryside is especially well suited for pursuing the sport of cross-country skiing. The 45 kms on extensively laid out and extremely well-groomed loipes of Salzburg's Sun Terrace (7 kms with snow-making), guarantee an unforgettable cross-country experience. 

The Hexenhäusl is among the most charming party locations in Bad Gastein. In its rustic ambiance with wood construction, you can meet for après ski and the nightlife, or you can enjoy a wonderful spare rib meal with schnapps. With the day of skiing over and the slopes quiet, Hansi Buchner will get things bubbling with pounding rhythms...

For Gasti Kids there are great price reductions in the whole valley in winter e.g.: at ski schools, ski rental,....

It makes us proud that the Bürglalm is one of the few selected Salzburg ski huts that follows the footsteps of the "Via Culinaria", 8 pleasure trails through the Salzburger Land.

In the "Hut Stool" and "Herb Lovers" categories, we received two commendations. Gabi Bürgler created the "Moar in der Pfoad" as our special Via Culinaria dish with the 2 toque chef Jürgen Vigne from the Pfefferschiff in Söllheim near Salzburg under the title "Gourmet in the snow – the peak of pleasure".
