Die urige Garnhofhütte liegt auf 1350 m direkt im Herzen von Zauchensee. Als eine der ersten Almhütten steht Sie seit über 200 Jahren mitten in unserem schönen Skigebiet.

The Gamskogelhütte is one of the cosiest mountain restaurants with self-service in Zauchensee. This is where skiers and snowboarders also connoisseurs who go up with the comfortable 6-seater chairlift Gamskogel and leave again carrying down.

At 1900 m above sea level are waiting not only the large sun terrace and offers panoramic views, but also Pongauer specialties and international cuisine.

In Grossarl and Hüttschlag you can go cross country skiing on 25 km of tracked trails. For the most part, the trails in our region are tracked for classic as well as “skating” technique.

In Grossarl as well as Hüttschlag, there are cross-country trails lit up after dark on certain days. The ca. 2 km-long night trail in Grossarl is at the Reitwiese, open to skiers Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 6 until 8:30 p.m. In Hüttschlag, there is a ca. 3 km-long floodlit trail next to the Aschaustüberl. This is available to all skiers on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 6 and 8:30 p.m.

A winter holiday at the Hochkönig brings you untroubled snow fun. Because modern snowmaking equipment and groomers provide boundless driving pleasure even if the weather should take a break. The Dachstein Ice Palace takes you into a mystical world of ice, deep inside the glacier. A special highlight is the throne made of ice, where visitors can take a seat and take an unforgettable photo in the fascinating icy landscape.
