Semester break – and now?

As soon as the Christmas holidays are over, the stressful school work starts because "we still have to collect grades" and BÄM the semester break is here again. A short week to breathe between all the hustle and bustle. But what to do in one week? Bali and Fiji are not so popular right now and mum and dad have to work anyway, so long-distance vacations are cancelled.

You know what?

It's much better that way anyway! We have the mountains with fresh snow right in front of us and you can even travel quite cheap!

Up to minus 35 percent at the weekend:

It's particularly cheap on Saturdays and Sundays --> with the "Junior Weekend Discount" children and young people receive a 35 percent discount on half-day and day ski passes throughout the season.

So pack up your friends and hit the slopes! Here are some of the coolest tips so you can show everyone on Insta and TikTok how cool your semester break is:

Lost in the view?

Cool shot with you in the foreground and THE view in the background? Here are a few of the coolest spots for your new Insta photo:

Dachstein
The Dachstein Glacier cable car takes you up to the top and if you're not afraid of heights and speed, you can even climb up the roof of the cable car – sheesh a really special feeling and first chance to take pictures. But be careful – hold your phone tight!
Once at the top, the suspension bridge and the stairway to nothingness await you and your smartphone at a dizzying height.

Gastein
Have you ever posed in front of the highest peak in Austria? It’s possible here! At the Stubnerkogel mountain station you will find the Glocknerblick viewing platform, where you can position yourself in front of the highest peak of the country. The suspension bridge here also offers cool motifs.

Großarl
The Fulseck 6-seater chairlift takes you to the top. Put your skis on the edge of the piste and use ski poles for balance and only when there is a good view up to the small summit of the Kreuzkogel. You can expect a great summit cross and a great view of the surrounding mountains.

TASTE Ski amadé - the finest flavour from the Austrian mountains in cozy mountain huts

No plan yet where to get something to eat while skiing this afternoon?
#tasteskiamade shows you the most delicious insider tips from the locals:

  • Fresh ribs from the smoker are available in the Wagrainerhaus in the Snow Space Salzburg ski area – all veggies are spoiled with Kasnockn!
  • And for dessert homemade blueberry farmer's donuts on the Krapfenalm or another sweet temptation in Snow Space Salzburg?
  • Or more like a Styrian? Then treat yourself to a Försterpfandl at the Knapplhütte on the Hauser Kaibling and for dessert there are yeast dumplings with vanilla sauce and pumpkin seed oil in the AlmArenA in the same ski area in the valley – sounds disgusting? But it tastes really great!

Download the Ski amadé Guide App – then you always have all the tips in your pocket.

FUN day and night!

No matter in which of the five regions you want to be out and about, in the Salzburger Sportwelt, Schladming-Dachstein, Gastein, Hochkönig and Großarl you will find the coolest toboggan runs and some of them are even open at night!

Rent the toboggan for just a few euros and check out a ticket. It's most fun when you're in a group! Don't forget your helmet and headlamp!
