Ski amadé offers up to 760 kilometres of slopes and 260 ski lifts across five regions. This makes the ski association one of Europe’s largest winter sports destinations.
In addition, around 250 ski huts and mountain restaurants invite visitors to stop for a bite to eat and enjoy themselves.
Thanks to its geographical location, modern snow-making technology and professional piste grooming, Ski amadé offers a high level of snow reliability throughout the winter season.
Around 90 per cent of the piste area – equivalent to approximately 684 kilometres of pistes – can be covered with artificial snow. More than 4,500 snow-making machines supplement natural snowfall and ensure good slope conditions when temperatures are suitable.
The higher-altitude ski resorts in particular, such as Sportgastein and Zauchensee, offer ideal conditions for a long winter season. However, actual snow and slope conditions always depend on the weather and temperatures.
The name Ski amadé pays homage to the famous Salzburg composer Wolfgang Amadé Mozart. The name reflects the geographical proximity of the ski regions to Salzburg and Mozart’s international renown.
The name thus combines Austrian culture and tradition with modern skiing enjoyment. The spelling ‘amadé’ is based on the form of the name that Mozart himself frequently used.
