Graukogelbahn in summer

Summer lifts

With the Graukogelbahn, you ride up to one of the most original summer mountains in Gastein. Old Swiss stone pines, scenic hiking trails and the quiet location above Bad Gastein make the Graukogel ideal for anyone who wants to experience nature consciously. The Zirbenweg near the mountain station, in particular, combines light exercise with a memorable mountain experience.

Known for its particularly beautiful and ancient Swiss stone pines

Some trees are 250 to 300 years old – that is what makes "Zirbenzauber" on the Graukogel so special. This unique stand of Swiss stone pines, 200 to 300 years old, is located on the pleasure hiking mountain in Bad Gastein, right next to the mountain station and set in an idyllic landscape with breathtaking views over the Gastein Valley.

"We want to offer our guests a new nature experience with Swiss stone pines to touch, smell, taste and drink," says Schafflinger, board member of Gasteiner Bergbahnen AG. As a first step, the Zirbenweg was created – a circular trail with its start and finish at the mountain station of the Graukogelbahn. A guided hike takes place every Friday.
