4-peak tour in the hiking paradise of Zauchensee

The 4-peak circular tour takes you to the four highest summits around the Seekar area in the hiking paradise of Zauchensee and is considered one of the most beautiful high-altitude circular hikes for experienced hikers in Salzburger Land. The sweeping views of the Niedere and Hohen Tauern, the Tennengebirge and the Radstädter Tauern, plus a stunning alpine flora with Alpine rose, gentian and much more, impress every nature lover.

At the four peaks Arche, Tagweidegg, Schwarzkopf and Gamskogel, you will find special checkpoints with markers for your 4-peak tour collecting pass. Once you have collected all four peak markers, you can hand in your touring pass for a small reward at the Gamskogelhütte or at the valley station of the Gamskogelbahn. You receive the collecting pass for your 4-peak tour free of charge when you buy a lift ticket.

    Zauchi’s peak tour for kids

Tip for families: If you're out and about in Zauchensee with children, don't miss Zauchi's peak tour! The family-friendly circular hike leads from the Gamskogelhütte to two of the most impressive peaks in Zauchensee: Arche and Tagweidegg. With the free hiking pass (available at the valley station), kids can collect stamps along the way and then pick up a small reward at the Gamskogelbahn. Ideal for little summit climbers!

    Gamskogelhütte

The Gamskogelhütte at around 1,900 m above sea level is the start and finish of your mountain adventures, is one of the cosiest huts in Zauchensee and offers impressive panoramic views over the alpine pastures and peaks of the surrounding area. The hut team will treat you to fine specialities from the local cuisine, which taste even better on the spacious sun terrace. Comfortable loungers invite you to sunbathe. Children can play and explore to their heart's content on the MeisterCup der Alpentiere adventure playground.

    MeisterCup of the alpine animals

The adventure playground is located right next to the Gamskogelhütte. The nine exciting activity stations for children are dedicated to the "Meistercup-Arena" theme: this is where the alpine animals meet to play, train and do sport. After all, the alpine animals are all top athletes in their discipline and they are waiting for playmates to compete against. Along the way, your children will learn all sorts of interesting facts about the impressive abilities of free-living mountain animals! Toddlers, schoolchildren and adults are guaranteed to be amazed and discover lots of new things.

In addition to the adventure playground, the MeisterCup area offers even more animal adventures. Around the Gamskogelhütte, the three circular trails - the WaldMeister Trail, AlmMeister Trail and BergMeister Trail - provide fun and challenge. Stations such as the “cool” Buggel slide, the clever antler climber and the gams-like climbing wall are just some of the highlights.
