    Skiing in the Schladming-Dachstein ski region

    In winter, the region shows its most sporty side. In total, around 171 kilometers of perfectly groomed pistes and 82 modern cable cars and chairlifts are available. The heart of the region is the well-known Schladming 4-Mountain Ski Area with the ski mountains Hauser Kaibling, Planai, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm.

    Wide carving slopes, sporty descents and varied ski areas offer ideal conditions for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. At the same time, numerous ski huts along the pistes provide enjoyable breaks during a day on the slopes.

    The ski region includes several varied ski areas that offer different winter sports experiences:

    Family winter in Schladming-Dachstein

    Families in particular will find ideal conditions for a successful ski holiday in the Schladming-Dachstein ski region. Several spacious children's areas and practice zones make it easier to get started in winter sports.

    Magic carpets, playful courses, wave runs and many other practice elements ensure that children can learn to ski with fun and at their own pace. Professional ski schools guide beginners and young winter sports enthusiasts on their way to their first confident turns on the piste.

    Fun & action in the snow

    In addition to classic pistes, the region offers numerous highlights for action-packed ski days. Several fun slopes provide variety on the slopes with wave runs, steep turns and playful elements.

    Freestylers will find a varied setup in the Superpark Planai with elements for different levels of difficulty. The Crosspark on Reiteralm offers additional challenges with spectacular course layouts and special obstacles.

    Winter experiences away from the piste

    There is also plenty to discover in the Schladming-Dachstein region away from the ski slopes. Snow-covered winter landscapes invite you to snowshoe hikes or ski tours. Popular activities also include horse-drawn sleigh rides through the winter mountain scenery or a sporting round on the region's cross-country ski trails.

    Ski huts & culinary stopovers

    A day of skiing in Schladming-Dachstein is also special because of the numerous ski huts. Many huts are located right on the pistes and invite you to enjoy a relaxing break.

    Here you can expect regional specialties such as hearty soups, traditional pastries or homemade strudel. The combination of regional cuisine, cosy atmosphere and an impressive mountain panorama makes every stop a special moment in the ski day.
