Coming from Salzburg, the best way to reach the ski area in Sportgastein is via the Gasteiner Bundesstrasse. Driving through the towns of Dorfgastein, Bad Hofgastein and Bad Gastein, you will come to Böckstein. Here the road divides, either in the direction of the Tauernschleuse (from the Austrian province of Carinthia) or to Sportgastein. The Gasteiner Hochalpenstrasse will finally bring you to the valley station of the Goldbergbahn.
