Schlossalm – family and adventure mountain

    Funslope and Familypark

A highlight for young and old alike is the around 650-metre-long Funslope. With banked turns, kickers, butter boxes and a tunnel, the course guarantees plenty of fun on the slopes.

At Familypark Gastein, beginners and young freestylers also find ideal conditions to try out their first tricks on snowpark elements.

    Skimovie and race courses

If you want to analyse your turns or compete with friends, you can have your run recorded on the Skimovie routes.

On the parallel giant slalom course on the Schlossalm or on the giant slalom course on Stubnerkogel, your run is filmed and available for download afterwards.

Hohe Scharte Nord – one of Salzburg’s longest descents

Hohe Scharte Nord is one of the most spectacular descents in the ski area. The route takes you from the mountain station down to the valley over more than 1,000 vertical metres and offers a particularly intense skiing experience for athletically ambitious skiers.

    Freeriding on the Schlossalm

Freeriders also find exciting opportunities on the Schlossalm. In addition to numerous off-piste slopes, there is an official ski route starting at the mountain station of the Kaserebenbahn.

Before entering the Katstall ski route, a Freeride Info Base provides information about current conditions and important safety advice.

In the Gasti Schneepark, children and ski beginners learn their first turns playfully together with the ski schools. Conveyor belts, practice lifts and child-friendly practice elements make it easier to get started in winter sports.

Highlights at the Angertal ski centre:

    • Ski school directly in the practice area
    • Judau practice tow lift
    • several conveyor belts for beginners
    • Kids Skimovie course for first race attempts

    Stubnerkogel

    Panoramic mountain and adventure

Stubnerkogel in Bad Gastein not only promises a breathtaking 360° panoramic view of the surrounding mountain landscape. Alongside wide slopes for enjoyable turns, there are also more demanding descents for sporty skiers. The famous Bucheben descent, where the FIS Snowboard World Cup is held regularly, is located directly at the valley station of the Stubnerkogelbahn.

    Sustainable arrival:
If you want to travel sustainably, taking the train to Bad Gastein is the ideal option. The railway station in Bad Gastein is located right next to the valley station of the Stubnerkogelbahn, ski rental is available on site and express trains stop here regularly.

Viewing platforms on the Gastein ski mountains

A special highlight is the spectacular 140-metre-long suspension bridge, which spans a 28-metre-deep drop. The suspension bridge not only promises a thrill or weak knees, but also offers a magnificent view.

The Glocknerblick viewing platform is located in the immediate vicinity of the Stubnerkogelbahn mountain station. As the name suggests, you can enjoy a beautiful panorama in both summer and winter with views of the Grossglockner (3,798 m).

Another special feature on the Stubnerkogel is the rock path south of the mountain station, which leads through steeper, rugged rock sections to a distinctive viewpoint at the same altitude. The view along the trail is breathtaking and unique, and it is an absolute must on a ski day.

Another “point of view” is the Talblick viewing platform, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view northwards over Bad Hofgastein. The viewing platform with wide seating steps along the stairs invites you to rest and linger in summer and winter alike.
