Arrival at the Dachstein Glacier
For a stress-free trip to the Dachstein valley station, we recommend taking the RVB Gletscher Shuttlebus (departs in Schladming at Planet Planai). In the meantime, you can park your car free of charge in the parking garage or underground car park. From there, the Dachstein Glacier Cable Car takes you further up into the mountains.
Arrival by car
If you are coming from the west, the easiest route is via the Munich-Salzburg motorway and then the Tauern motorway (A 10) to the Ennstal junction. From there, it is only about 25 km via the Ennstal federal road (B 320) to the Schladming-Dachstein region, Ramsau am Dachstein turn-off.
Coming from the east, travel via Vienna (A 23) and the South Motorway (A 2), then continue via Semmering (S 6) to the St. Michael junction. From there, take the Pyhrn motorway (A 9) to the Liezen junction. On the Ennstal federal road (B 320), it is still around 50 km to the Schladming-Dachstein region, Ramsau am Dachstein turn-off.
From the south-east, travel via the Pyhrn motorway (A 9) to the Liezen junction and then about 50 km along the Ennstal federal road (B 320) to the Schladming-Dachstein region, Ramsau am Dachstein turn-off.
For those coming from the south, take the Tauern motorway (A 10) to the Ennstal junction. From there, it is only about 25 km via the Ennstal federal road (B 320) to the Schladming-Dachstein region, Ramsau am Dachstein turn-off.
There are enough parking spaces available for you at the Dachstein Glacier Cable Car valley station.
Using the Dachstein toll road is free for cable car guests, but the toll ticket must be validated at the machine in the Dachstein mountain station!
Arrival by train or long-distance bus
Good alternatives to travelling by car are bus or train. These options not only make your journey stress-free, but are also environmentally friendly. Schladming is very easy to reach by train thanks to the Salzburg – Graz railway line. Flixbus also stops in Schladming at Lendplatz. The RVB Gletscher Shuttlebus also runs from the train station and Lendplatz, making the Dachstein valley station easy to reach by public transport as well.
