Arrival to Dachstein-Glacier

To get to the Dachstein Valley Station stress-free, we recommend you take the RVB Glacier Shuttlebus (departure in Schladming at Planet Planai). In the meantime, you can park your car for free in the multi-storey car park or in the underground car park at the Planai. Afterwards, you can take the Dachstein Glacier Railway up to the top.

Arrival by car
If you are coming from the west, you can easily take the Munich-Salzburg motorway and continue on the Tauern motorway (A 10) to the Ennstal junction. From there it is only about 25 km via the Ennstal federal road (B 320) to the Schladming-Dachstein region, junction Ramsau am Dachstein.

Coming from the east, the journey is via Vienna (A 23) and the southern motorway (A 2), then via the Semmering (S 6) to the St. Michael junction. From there, take the Pyhrnautobahn (A 9) to the Liezen junction. On the Ennstal main road (B 320) it is still about 50 km to the region Schladming-Dachstein, turn-off Ramsau am Dachstein.

From the south-east, the journey is also via the Pyhrn motorway (A 9) to the Liezen junction and approx. 50 km on the Ennstal main road (B 320) to the Schladming-Dachstein region, Ramsau am Dachstein junction.

For those arriving from the south, take the Tauern motorway (A 10) to the Ennstal junction. From there it is only about 25 km via the Ennstal federal road (B 320) to the Schladming-Dachstein region, junction Ramsau am Dachstein.

At the valley station of the Dachstein glacier gondola there are enough parking spaces available for you.
Use of the Dachstein toll road is free of charge for cable car guests, but the toll ticket must be validated at the ticket machine in the Dachstein mountain station!

Arrival by train or long-distance bus
Good alternatives to travelling by car are bus or train. These options not only give you a stress-free journey, they are also environmentally friendly. Schladming is easily accessible by train thanks to the Salzburg - Graz railway line. Also the Flixbus stops in Schladming at the Lendplatz. The RVB Gletscher Shuttlebus also runs from the station and Lendplatz, making the Dachstein Valley Station easily accessible with the public transport.
